Wherever the dao of Taiji passed, every divine power of God King Langwan's consciousness froze solid, becoming a sky full of star-sand that drifted and swirled in the starfield. Her way of consciousness attacked chiefly through visualization, visualizing matter into being; but the dao of Taiji gave birth to and transformed all things, altering the structure of matter, so her divine powers of consciousness had not even room to unfold before they were broken outright.

The Taiji Starfield shrank, suppressing this female Creator, compressing her body ever smaller.

"God King, forgive the offense—Hao Tianzun wants us to bring you back.

" The two Taiji ancient gods swept their four arms like weavers at a loom, rousing their mana to bind Langwan fast; the Taiji Starfield gradually became a Taiji sand table that fettered her. The two ancient gods beckoned, and the Taiji sand table flew up and fell behind their heads.

Just then a golden ship suddenly rammed over.

With a thunderous crash it shattered the Taiji sand table, and countless star-sands flew whirling through the sky! The two ancient gods were startled, and hastily roused their mana to gather the sand table, crying out in dismay, "Mu Tianzun? " After shattering the sand table, the golden ship carried Langwan flying out, yet there was no trace of Shen Mu aboard.

The two ancient gods exchanged a glance. "Were Mu Tianzun aboard, we would be hard put," they said.

"We promised him we would not be his enemy—but since he is not aboard, then we cannot be blamed!

" The Taiji sand table condensed once more, spreading out with a roar and becoming the Taiji Starfield, making the golden ship's passage difficult. The two ancient gods' serpent tails swam as they gave chase—and suddenly a large, round thing tumbled from the ship and crashed into the Taiji Starfield.

That round thing was a vast primordial egg of perfect spherical form. Complex dao patterns emerged across its surface; the patterns flashed with a hum, and at once the stars surging in from all sides were swatted away!

Seizing her chance, the golden ship carried Langwan and burst out of the Taiji Starfield.

The two Taiji ancient gods roared in fury and were about to give chase when suddenly a heavy voice came from within the round egg: "Fellow daoists, Taishi pays his respects!

" The ancient gods Taiyin and Taiyang halted at once, and Lady Taiyin probed, "You in the shell—might you be Taoist Brother Taishi? " From the round egg came Taishi's voice, chuckling, "It is indeed Taishi.

Fellow daoists, you emerged into the world early, before I had emerged into the world at all, so by rights I ought to call you Taoist Brothers.

But I was born earlier than you, and so, shamelessly, I call you fellow daoists.

" The Taiyang ancient god said, "The Five Supreme Ones of the primordial are ranked by birth, not by emergence into the world.

Taiyi came first, Taichu second, Taishi third, Taisu fourth; we are the youngest of the Five Supreme Ones, so we ought of course to call you Taoist Brother.

Why do you block our way, Taoist Brother? " Taishi in the egg said, "I am saving you.

I have been cultivating under Mu Tianzun, and my vision and knowledge grow broader by the day.

I know not only of the struggle between Mu and Hao, but also of the designs of the primeval universe. It would be one thing for you to help Taichu—but why sink so low as to help Hao Tianzun?

What good could Hao Tianzun possibly be? He has colluded with the young masters of the primeval universe, meaning to bring them down upon us!

When that day comes, all living beings will be enslaved!

You will fare no better! " Lady Taiyin frowned.

"Do not block us, Taoist Brother.

We seek only to attain the dao, nothing else. To block us is to block our attainment of the dao. The enmity of one who blocks another's attainment of the dao cannot be borne under the same sky.

" "Bullshit! Fellow daoist, you are talking nonsense with your rump thrust up in the air! " Taishi laughed in his fury: "We Five Supreme Ones were born for the sake of the universe—not to attain the dao, but to protect this universe as it grows!

You should go and take a look at Black Mountain Holy Land. Is there a single vein of ore there that does not hide primeval powerhouses waiting to steal in? If those fellows descend, do you think you can keep yourselves out of it? Even if you attain the dao, they will dig you right out of the Daluo Heaven! " Lady Taiyin's face flushed despite herself, and she said coldly, "Taishi, we honor you for having been born early, and so we call you Taoist Brother!

Otherwise, by order of emergence into the world, you should be calling us Taoist Brothers! Do not presume upon your age!

Now—will you yield, or not?

" Taishi in the egg was enraged: "Taiyang, fellow daoist, rein in your sister! Of the Five Supreme Ones of the primordial, Taiyi had his body seized, Taichu has become the running dog of a young master of the primeval universe, Taisu was killed by Hao Tianzun—only we remain! If you two connive with Hao Tianzun and Taichu any longer, I alone will be left as the only upright one—" Boom! Lady Taiyin could bear it no longer.

The Taiji Starfield became a River of Stars that coiled up the round egg and smashed it down heavily: "You have not even emerged into the world, and yet you come to lecture us! " Taishi was smashed dizzy and reeling. Dao patterns emerged all over the outside of the egg, shaking the surrounding River of Stars loose, and he said furiously, "Taiji, I honored the vast resolve in you—your willingness to hatch early and emerge into the world, to attain the dao by passing through the red dust.

I took you for people who understood reason. I never expected you to be so worthless! Never mind attaining the dao—you will not even keep your lives!

" Lady Taiyin said angrily, "Brother, this Taishi is a fool.

Held up here by him, we will have a hard time answering to Hao Tianzun and Taoist Brother Taichu. Since he stubbornly refuses to see reason—" The Taiyang ancient god hesitated, then said politely, "Taoist Brother Taishi, the Five Supreme Ones are of one flesh and blood.

You are our elder brother, but Taichu is our elder brother as well. Please, Taoist Brother, make way. " Taishi in the egg said angrily, "I will not yield. Will you step over my corpse, then?

" "Then we shall have to step over your corpse. " The Taiyang ancient god and Lady Taiyin joined hands; their serpent tails entwined, they roused the Taiji sand table, and the whole starfield seethed!

Taishi in the egg shuddered with dread and hastily strode forward within the egg to charge out, crying in a fury, "You would even kill your elder brother—you are ruthless enough! Mu Tianzun, you never told me these two were such hard cases…

" He gave a startled cry, and suddenly felt a coolness on both legs—his two legs had somehow passed through the eggshell and were racing along, bearing the divine egg on a mad dash!

Lady Taiyin's earlier blow had cracked his eggshell open, and in his panic his two legs had kicked two great holes in it.

"I'm done for… " Taishi's mind went blank; as he ran, the eggshell around him cracked apart with snaps and cracks, and then the light of the Taiji Starfield shone in from outside.
