Chapter 2545 — The Wrong Spot Got Run Over
Zhong Yongliang paid no heed to Gao Xiaofu's attempts to explain. He simply leaped out of the car, and sure enough, there was Zhao Qibing lying not far off at the school gate, howling in agony, his two arms bent at unnatural angles. He had no idea what had happened, but the man was definitely injured!
A heaven-sent opportunity! Zhong Yongliang was overjoyed. He shot over at rocket speed and planted a kick right in Zhao Qibing's face. "Screw your grandmother! Weren't you so tough? Weren't you so amazing? You're finished now too, aren't you?"
"Ah?" Zhao Qibing had been figuring that once his arms felt a little better and the pain eased, he would get up and make his own way home to the clan on foot. But who would have thought that while he was resting, a leather shoe would come down on his face? It did not hurt much, really—it just gave him a fright!
"Who's there?" Zhao Qibing turned his head and saw Zhong Yongliang. He hastily shielded his body with true qi and snarled, "Zhong Yongliang, you again?"
"Hah, I finally caught you at your weakest, didn't I? Weren't you beating me up? Weren't you so capable? Why aren't you putting on airs now?" Zhong Yongliang chuckled and kept grinding his sole into Zhao Qibing's face. This time, though, Zhao Qibing had true qi protecting his body, so he could actually defend against Zhong Yongliang's attacks.
"Even with my arms broken, there's no way you can do anything to me. That weapon of yours got won off you by Wei Zhao. What can you possibly do to me?" Zhao Qibing had heard the news too, and so he was utterly unafraid.
Zhong Yongliang kicked away for a good while before it finally dawned on him that Zhao Qibing was an early-stage Earth-rank cultivator with true qi shielding his body. Wei Zhao could beat him, but Zhong Yongliang himself was powerless against him. He felt rather frustrated. Then inspiration struck: he saw those bent arms of Zhao Qibing's and simply brought his foot down on them!
"Sss—" Zhao Qibing sucked in a sharp breath, cold sweat pouring down.
True, he had true qi protecting his body, but it only shielded his body so that Zhong Yongliang's attacks were ineffective against him. The broken arm was a different matter. The force of the blow was dispersed, yes, but Zhong Yongliang's stomp had shifted the position of Zhao Qibing's arm. The arm was already broken; shifting it naturally magnified the pain.
Seeing that this worked, Zhong Yongliang was delighted beyond measure. He kicked away at Zhao Qibing's injured spots without pause. But Zhao Qibing was a cultivator after all, and he could endure this pain—it was nothing but an injury, pure and simple. So Zhao Qibing gave a cold hum and said, "If you want to torture me like this, go right ahead. It's just a bit of pain, I can bear it. Keep going..."
Hearing that, Zhong Yongliang lost interest. In truth, he was getting a little bored too, and he could tell. Zhao Qibing was in pain, but not the kind of pain that had him wailing for his parents. So Zhong Yongliang lost his appetite for it, let Zhao Qibing off with a sullen air, and turned back to the car.
"Drive. Run him over." In his frustration, Zhong Yongliang wanted to give Zhao Qibing a taste of disgust. He knew it would not kill him, but getting driven over by a car would certainly not feel good.
"Right." Gao Xiaofu hurriedly started the car and drove straight over Zhao Qibing. Though Zhao Qibing had true qi shielding his body, he still ended up with tire tracks all over him, which put him in a foul mood.
But when he got a clear look at where those tire tracks were, Zhao Qibing nearly burst into tears! Holy crap, weren't those his legs? If he hadn't shielded himself with true qi to defend, wouldn't his legs have been crushed and broken by the car?
At that thought, Zhao Qibing hastily shouted, "Wait a moment! Wait a moment!"
Zhong Yongliang frowned. He stuck his head out the car window and looked down at Zhao Qibing on the ground, asking impatiently, "What? Not done being run over yet? Want my car to run over you again?"
"Yes, yes! That's it!" Zhao Qibing nodded hurriedly and said, "Just back the car up now, the same as before—aim at my legs and drive right over them."
"Are you sick in the head? Fine, then I'll oblige you." Though Zhong Yongliang had no idea what Zhao Qibing meant, he still ordered Gao Xiaofu, "Back up. Run over him again along the same path!"
"Yes, Brother Liang!" Gao Xiaofu also thought Zhao Qibing's brain must have short-circuited. Was there something wrong with him, actually begging someone to run him over? Wasn't that insane? Still, he firmly carried out Zhong Yongliang's order: backed the car up and ran over him again.
Only, Gao Xiaofu was not Zhao Qibing—not a professional race car driver. His driving was passable, but reversing was not nearly so accurate. So when he ran over Zhao Qibing's body, he veered a bit off and drove straight over both of Zhao Qibing's feet!
"Awooo—" Zhao Qibing let out a howl and nearly went berserk. "Screw your grandmother, Zhong Yongliang! I told you to run over my legs—what did you run over my feet for?"
This time he had not shielded himself with true qi, so both his feet were directly crushed and broken, the pain unbearable—though the greater part of it was fury.
"Why do you have to be so much trouble?" Zhong Yongliang's status was a far cry from what it used to be. When Wei Zhao said such things to him, he did not dare talk back, but Zhao Qibing was different. In his eyes, this was just a brat from the Hidden Zhao family—what was he putting on airs for?
So Zhong Yongliang was thoroughly impatient. "Gao Xiaofu, drive. Ignore him!"
"Yes, Brother Liang!" Gao Xiaofu answered at once and started the car again, driving forward. Just when Zhao Qibing was caught off guard, he ran over both his feet once more. Zhao Qibing tried to shield himself with true qi, but it was too late—his feet were broken even worse now, and this time he could not even stand. He would probably have to crawl home...
"Zhong Yongliang, you just wait. Once I've mastered my Thousand Legs, that'll be the day you die!" Zhao Qibing cursed furiously in his heart, but he did not dare say it aloud.
Zhong Yongliang's car sped off in a cloud of dust, vanishing past the school gate in the blink of an eye. Zhao Qibing, meanwhile, was utterly miserable. Today was a day of calamity! He regretted not consulting the almanac before going out—how could he be this unlucky?
Originally, he had planned to rest up and then get to his feet and run home. But now his feet could no longer run—he could only crawl. And crawling home would not only humiliate him but would strip the Hidden Zhao family of all face as well. How would they show themselves around East Sea City after this?
Just as Zhao Qibing was sunk in despair, he suddenly spotted a familiar face—sitting in a sports car, driving this way. It was You Panhu!
"You Panhu, You Panhu!" Zhao Qibing hastily shouted.
"Huh? Isn't this Zhao Qibing? What happened to you? How did you end up in such a state? Did Wei Zhao or Zhong Yongliang beat you up?" You Panhu had Huang Mao stop the car and looked at Zhao Qibing on the ground with some puzzlement. "What are you lying at the school gate for?"
