" His scattered body suddenly turned on the crowd with deadly intent, but without the support of a whole physical form his magic power was nothing like what it had been; his divine treasury, too, had been seized from another, and now that even the divine treasury had been stripped from his flesh, his magic power was dispersed, and none of his attacks carried the might they once had. Even so, his strength remained formidable, and the heads, legs, and eyeballs flying through the sky were truly ghastly, enough to make one's blood run cold.
Suddenly, several legs raced forward and positioned themselves beneath that box of his; the legs exerted their strength and leaped into the air.
"He means to flee! " The Lame Old Man's hands flew like the wind, and using his hands as legs he raced straight after, clutching two legs and shouting, "Give me back my legs!
" The box opened, and the other heads and eyes came flying over to attack the Lame Old Man. Emperor Yanfeng roared, suddenly spitting out an arrow of blood; the blood arrow became a blood dragon that reared up coiling, and Emperor Yanfeng leaped onto the blood dragon's back and headed straight for the box in the sky.
The Blind Old Man propped himself up on the great spear with both hands and leaped into the air; the Longtuo Divine Spear abruptly swayed its body and caught him up, charging at the box in the sky.
Granny Zhu, Yu Zhaoging, the Empress Dowager, and the others each employed their own means, plunging into the air to intercept that box. Bang.
Emperor Yanfeng plummeted down, smashing hard into the ground, coughing blood again and again. Then the Lame Old Man fell too, still clutching those two legs in a grip he would not loosen for dear life; Shen Mu hurried over and stretched out both hands to catch him, when his injuries suddenly erupted and he stumbled, and the Lame Old Man fell past his outstretched hands, hitting the ground so hard it trembled without cease. "Shen, you unfilial boy.
.
.
" The Lame Old Man bounced up and fell again, rolled his eyes back, and passed out cold—yet still clung to those two legs with a death grip.
Shen Mu scratched his head and thought, "If I used the Dragon-Riding Art to control those flood dragons, I could move a good deal faster.
.
. " He at once roused the Dragon-Riding Art, and the many flood dragons, forcing down their injuries, came swimming toward him.
Bang, bang, bang.
Masters kept falling from the sky.
Emperor Yanfeng struggled to his feet and saw the Empress Dowager struck down as well; he scrambled desperately over and caught her, only to cough blood from the weight.
By the time Shen Mu had borrowed the flood dragons' magic power, Yu Zhaoging too came tumbling down from the air.
He was just about to catch her when he saw her garments turn into scales and feathers that quivered without cease, checking her fall. Shen Mu halted; then Yu Zhaoging abruptly lost her strength, the scales and feathers stopped fluttering, and she plunged to the ground with a thud—Shen Mu no longer had time to catch her.
Only Granny Zhu and the Blind Old Man remained in the air, besieging that box.
Shen Mu hurriedly soared upward; the flood dragons on his body were gravely wounded, and before long they would be unable to hold on and would break away from him, so he had to finish this quickly.
The battle in the air was beyond bizarre.
Granny Zhu and the Blind Old Man, both gravely wounded, stood atop the box, fending off attacks coming from every direction.
Their attackers were the parts of Xing'an's body: divine light shot from the Sacred Pupils; a skullcap flew up like an alms bowl; fists, legs, and even heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys, even hair and skin, all launched attacks upon the two. Such uncanny assaults had never been heard of!
