" Behind them came a sudden earth-shaking roar: the Black Tiger God had slain that demon god and came howling over. A tiger's roar startled the mountains and forests; grass and trees flew up, and loose stones hurtled into the air. The Black Tiger God came charging in; his two great hammers, one after the other, blasted apart the few experts who had been chasing Shen Mu and the others.
Seeing this, Shen Mu at once said: "Back a hundred li. " Sang Hua, Ling Yuxiu, and the rest were puzzled, but still ran back as told.
The Black Tiger God, having killed the pursuers, leaped over their heads and went to meet the many demon experts charging from the front.
Those demon experts were also led by a demon god. The Black Tiger God broke their battle formation apart; the two deities slaughtered each other, while the other demon experts skirted their battlefield and rushed at Shen Mu and the others. Shen Mu led the group back the hundred li and halted, saying in a deep voice: "Now we should be safe.
" A moment later, ahead of them, the primordial spirits of demon experts came charging in, divine powers striking from afar. The group's faces changed slightly, then suddenly a great hammer came flying out of nowhere and crushed those demon experts' divine powers and primordial spirits to powder! The Black Tiger God appeared, caught the hammer flying toward the group, gave it a mighty shake, and laughed: "I have not failed my charge!
Everyone, onto my back. Follow me into the attack, charge the enemy camp, and I'll carry you back to Li City!
" Shen Mu breathed a sigh of relief and thought: "Senior Brother Tiger really has grown a good deal fatter these two days. His weight has increased, and his speed has dropped by a tenth, so I left a margin of a hundred li. It seems I calculated right!
"
