Chapter 667 — The Crimson Emperor Beneath the Seal

The Herdsman of the Wasteland · Page 3 of 4

He sighed. "A man so clever—why would he do something so unwise? It seems that before life and death, everyone has a folly in him.

" Divine light swirled in his third eye, then shot forth. In the very instant that ray of divine light flew out, the First Ancestor, the Human Sovereign, leaped up, and the Yuming Sword met the light and drove into his third eye! The Divine Son Chiming cried out in pain; the crystalline lens of the eye ran down from his brow mixed with blood. Then, from beneath his purple-red robe, two heads burst violently forth, and from under his arms four more arms thrust out. Six arms, bearing terrible force, came crashing down upon the First Ancestor, the Human Sovereign!

The First Ancestor, the Human Sovereign, neither dodged nor flinched. The moment he struck the third eye he abandoned his sword, crossed his hands, and unleashed the Heaven and Earth Seal Art, letting the Divine Son Chiming's attack fall upon him. The first of the Three Forms of Heaven's Fall—The Heavens Topple, the Earth's Bonds Snap—burst forth in full force, slamming into the Divine Son Chiming without reservation! The two struck each other almost simultaneously. From within the First Ancestor's body came the sound of snapping bone; rib after rib pierced out through his back, through his flesh, through his clothing. His face took a blow as well—his features twisted, his jawbone shattered—and his whole body was sent flying backward, faster than Shen Mu's sprint down the mountain, crashing to the ground a step ahead of him and blasting open a vast crater.

Nearby, palace after palace and temple after temple collapsed with a roar, tumbling ceaselessly down into the crater.

At the summit of the holy mountain on the other side, the Divine Son Chiming's body twisted into a grotesque posture, his waist folded together like a paper effigy creased at the middle. The middle of his three necks had snapped, and that head lolled backward. With a thunderous crash—his body slammed into the holy hall, and from within came an earthshaking report.

The wall at the back of the hall burst apart in an instant, countless stones flying; in that same instant, the Divine Son Chiming's twisted body shot out, tracing a dead-straight streak of light through the air.

The stone steps beneath Shen Mu's feet kept collapsing, dropping into the crater. The youth leaped and bounded like the wind, springing from shattered step to shattered step, descending swiftly to the bottom of the pit. The First Ancestor, the Human Sovereign, lay there sprawled on his back, agony twisting the muscles of his face beyond his control. He rasped, "He is stronger than I am, his realm is higher, and he has three heads.

I only destroyed one of them. Go, quickly!

" Shen Mu tried to lift him in his arms. The First Ancestor, the Human Sovereign, raged, "All twelve of my ribs are broken. There is nothing left but my spine. I can't fight anymore—you go!

" "And go where? " Shen Mu shook his head.

"The arts of the Chiming era excel at the creation of the flesh.

Never mind regrowing broken bones—a man can grow two extra heads and four extra arms. An injury like yours is nothing; if you cultivate the Creation Divine Art, you can refine your ribs back. You see? This is the benefit of my study of the Wheel of Creation. Back then you looked so aggrieved, never saying a word, but inside you were complaining that I wouldn't learn your Seal Art. .

. " The First Ancestor, the Human Sovereign, flew into a fury, lying there without moving.

"At a critical moment like this, you're still talking nonsense!

Get out! Get out now!

" Shen Mu laughed.

"I can't escape the Void Realm anyway. Where would I roll off to? " He truly could not drag the First Ancestor, the Human Sovereign, so he gave up the idea.

He drew the God-Slaying Mystic Blade, locked the small box into place, and fixed his eyes on the summit of the holy mountain. A sharp whistle—a streak of light flew back.
