Chapter 863 — Where the Venerable One Sleeps

Shen Mu looked down and saw that this great river was actually flowing through the starry sky, mighty and vast, heading into the boundless depths of space.
The river's surface was unimaginably wide, reminding him of the Heavenly Court's Heavenly River.
After the Yuan Realm's seal was broken, the Yong River returned to the Heavenly River. Yet in Shen Mu's memory, when the Heavenly River flowed to the Yuan Realm, it flowed through the sky, whereas the Yong River flowed upon the earth. This meant that the section of the Heavenly River flowing to the Yuan Realm still had seals not fully released.
If the seals were completely released, the Heavenly River would surely rise into the sky.
What astonished them was that the ancient well actually connected to the Heavenly River, and this coffin had fallen into the Heavenly River, carried by its waters out of the Yuan Realm.
Atop the coffin, everyone searched in all directions but could not see the Yuan Realm.
They were now an unknown distance from the Yuan Realm, and no one knew where this hanging coffin would take them.
The Heavenly River surged on, passing by a massive blue sun, circling half way around it.
Shen Mu gazed into the distance and saw within the sun a grand complex of palace buildings, now utterly dilapidated—surely no gods dwelled there anymore.
Soon after, they saw the resplendent Heavenly Court.
The ancient Heavenly Court was extremely far away, shrouded in golden light. As the hanging coffin traveled along the Heavenly River, that Heavenly Court drew nearer and nearer. Only then did everyone notice that while it appeared resplendent from afar, its center was filled with a heavy, stagnant air.
That was the aura of death.
The Heavenly River flowed past this Heavenly Court, then suddenly curved and entered it, the aura of death growing ever heavier.
The ruined Southern Heavenly Gate appeared before their eyes. Upon it hung the corpse of a colossal god-demon, its waist broken and draped there, a spear nailed into its skull, the spear covered in verdigris.
The spear had pierced through the god-demon's skull and embedded itself in the Southern Heavenly Gate.
"Which Heavenly Court is this?" The Heavenly Dragon King's voice was hoarse and rasping.
Yan Qiling and the others stared blankly behind the Southern Heavenly Gate, where countless white bones lay—the bones of gods and demons.
The hanging coffin sailed into the Heavenly Court. On both banks, countless corpses and bones piled into mountains, chilling to the bone.
The Dragon Qilin burrowed behind Shen Mu, lying on the ground with its two claws covering its face, not daring to look outside, yet secretly peeking through the gaps between its claws, only to tremble with fright.
Beside it, the Box was inexplicably excited, pacing back and forth, wanting to jump ashore to collect those bones.
Xing An's scalp also tingled. He had surmised that Fallen God Valley was merely a gateway, a gateway to a vast treasure, but he had never imagined such a horrifying scene behind it.
Suddenly, Yan Qiling said, "Heavenly Venerable Yu from the Heavenly Court, how much do you know about this Fallen God Valley?"
Everyone's gaze fell upon "Heavenly Venerable Yu." He smiled and said, "I do not know much either. Did you not just say that this is the burial place of Heavenly Venerables? By rights, you should know more."
"Not a single truthful word comes from your mouth!"
Mu Qiubai sneered, "You are not the real Heavenly Venerable Yu! Who are you really? If you do not speak, do you think we cannot capture you and force the secrets of this place from you?"
The Heavenly Dragon King's brows and whiskers drooped as he said in a muffled voice, "Young man from the Heavenly Court, you had best tell us what you know."
