"According to legend, the Heavenly River flows into the great abyss of Guixu. Yet legend never said that the great abyss of Guixu lies beneath Lord Earth's feet, nor that the Heavenly River passes through Youdu. But what if the Heavenly River does pass through Youdu? " Shen Mu's eyes grew brighter and brighter.
He adjusted the Heavenly River, drawing its waters to pierce through the two realms of the Yuan World and Youdu; since these two realms overlapped in space, the Heavenly River did not need to cross the Yuan World's continent to reach Youdu, but entered another space instead. The Heavenly River became the River of the Underworld, mighty and vast, flowing around Lord Earth's magnificent body.
Shen Mu was dumbstruck, and gazing at Lord Earth's palm, he could not speak.
Lord Earth's weapon was a whip.
He had once seen Lord Earth use that whip to bind Tian Shu, and the Heavenly River, turned to the River of the Underworld, flowed into Youdu and ran exactly across Lord Earth's palm! The River of the Underworld was the whip in Lord Earth's hand! "No wonder every time I went to Youdu I always felt that something was missing from Lord Earth.
It was the River of the Underworld whip! " Shen Mu steadied himself and adjusted the River of the Underworld, and saw that it flowed precisely into Guixu. "There is still one thing that does not fit!
" Shen Mu raised his head and looked at Xuandu, then at the Four Pole Heavens: "The height of the Four Pole Heavens is wrong!
The Four Pole Heavens should be higher than the Yuan World and a little lower than the Heavenly Court, and the Heavenly River should also flow through Xuandu.
Yet it does not pass through Xuandu; rather it runs as the Heavenly River, like an enormous ring of rope, the ring drooping down, hanging into Youdu. .
.
" He calculated madly; after a moment he reached out and lightly drew a line, and laughed: "The waters of the Heavenly River come from the heavens, so of course they come from Xuandu!
" From Xuandu a Heavenly River came rushing down, altering the original course of the Heavenly River, so that it now came from the heavens, flowed into the Northern Pole Heaven, and from the Northern Pole Heaven through the Western Pole Heaven, the Southern Pole Heaven, and the Eastern Pole Heaven, and from the Eastern Pole Heaven on to the Heavenly Court.
After reaching the Heavenly Court, the Heavenly River descended from the sky and flowed toward the Yuan World; since the Yuan World overlapped with Youdu, the Heavenly River then became the River of the Underworld, pouring into Youdu, and at last into Guixu beneath Lord Earth's feet!
Shen Mu studied the star map of the great cosmos, pacing back and forth. If one calculated according to the star map, the Four Pole Heavens ought to stand upright relative to the Yuan World, perpendicular to it, and with their backs to it. He reached out and drew line after line, connecting the various worlds, yet he could not make them all converge at a single point. Shen Mu's brow furrowed tightly, then his eyes suddenly lit up, and he said softly: "The original Longhan Heavenly Court was not in its present position, but in the sky above the Yuan World.
Then, if the Heavenly Court is moved downward. .
. " He moved the Heavenly Court in the star map toward the Yuan World, suspending it above the Yuan World. From outside the chariot came the voice of the Heavenly Dragon, raised high: "Heavenly Worthy, the Wu Kingdom is here!
" Shen Mu paid no heed, slowly adjusting the position of the Heavenly Court, when suddenly his heart and spirit were violently shaken. All the lines had at last woven together, forming a single spot of light!
Shen Mu wept for joy, tears falling despite himself, and murmured: "Here, here is the Ancestral Court, the place where the Creator's Ancestral Court lies! Learning the arts of calculation well truly has its great uses!
"
