Those upon the altar wished to see the full form of the owner of this eye, but the colossus's eyeball blocked half the sky, and its true body could not be seen.

Cold sweat broke out on Luo Xiao's forehead. Hastily he opened the vertical eye at the center of his brow, and his divine consciousness surged out, flooding toward this eye, as he shouted, "Void Beasts devour everything — beware, everyone! Let me try to subdue it first!"
His divine consciousness charged into the eyeball, and from within that enormous eyeball there unexpectedly came a shrill, piercing shriek, so harsh that the six heavenly dragons, the Dragon Qilin, and Yan'er rolled about on the ground in agony.
Shen Mu and the others had extremely high cultivation of divine consciousness, so the shriek from the eyeball did not harm them; but the divine consciousness of the Dragon Qilin and Yan'er was not so formidable.
The enormous eyeball retreated. Its eyelid rolled upward, seemingly about to cover the eyeball, yet what was terrible was that beneath the eyelid there yawned an abyssal maw, with no lips at all!
This was like an enormous eyeball: when the eyelid rolled up, the eyeball turned into a mouth!
This was the first time Shen Mu had seen such a bizarre creature.
That gaping mouth was like a black hole with no bottom in sight. A dreadful gravitational pull came; a long tongue coiled around the altar, and the pull seized everyone upon it, dragging them toward the abyssal maw!
"Do not panic!"
Luo Xiao said in a loud voice, "Trust me! My divine consciousness will surely subdue this Void Beast!"
He surged with divine consciousness, desperately trying to control the Void Beast. Shen Mu hurriedly turned to look and saw that the abyssal maw was closing!
Shen Mu drove the Mystic Body Three Elixirs Art, marshaled the supreme Great Luo divine consciousness, and launched it into the Void Beast's body as well.
His divine consciousness had just set out when, abruptly, the Void Beast stopped devouring them; the abyssal maw also ceased closing, and the enormous tongue sent the altar out of the abyssal maw.
Everyone upon the altar was taken aback. Shen Mu withdrew his divine consciousness, also breathing a sigh of relief.
Luo Xiao wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and said with boundless joy, "I had thought my cultivation was insufficient and that I could not subdue the Void Beast; fortunately I erupted with all my strength in the final moment and finally brought this Void Beast down."
The tongue, untold miles in length, stretched out and set the altar down.
Shen Mu turned to look, and saw that the Void Beast was bizarre in form: rows of mountain-like bone spikes grew atop its head, so enormous that they looked like rows of bone-mountains.
This Void Beast had evidently been through countless battles; many of the bone-mountains on its body had broken off, exposing sharp splinters of bone.
He soared into the air, putting a greater distance between himself and the Void Beast, and only then could he make out the colossus's full form.
This Void Beast crouched with its two hind legs amid the towering mountains, its four forelegs braced against the ground — six legs in all — and its bulk rose far above the lofty peaks of the Ancestral Court.
Its head was very round, and in the center of its head was a single enormous eye, just one, occupying its entire face.
Beneath the eye lay a cleft like an arcing canyon, along with much rough, creased skin.
The cleft must have been its mouth, and the creased skin its eyelid.
When the eyelid lifted upward, the mouth would grow larger and larger, until at last nothing remained on the round, bulbous head but an abyssal maw lined with sharp, sawlike teeth, a long tongue in its mouth!
