The Headman was furious. "Any higher and I will have run off beyond the heavens! There is no way this divine sword's might is that strong—to sever the divine weapons in the foundries from such a distance!"
He boldly drew the sword, and the divine sword left its scabbard.
The wisp of Shen Mu's divine consciousness that had come to his side instantly melted away like snow and ice; before it was destroyed, it saw only an incomparably dazzling sword-light!
At that same moment, in the Supervisory Foundries on both banks of the Tu River, divine weapon after divine weapon shook and rang out; among the thousands of divine weapons, countless runes lit of their own accord in an instant. Sensing the threat, each weapon's own might was triggered, and dazzling divine radiance poured forth from every blade and treasure!
The next moment, the crowd outside the foundries heard crash after crash of shattering rise unceasingly from the workshops, and their faces changed drastically; they hurried toward the foundries.
Before they had even reached the foundries, a sword pill that had come out of the furnace not long before suddenly shattered with a clatter. That sword pill had harbored three hundred and sixty divine swords within it, and one after another the swords broke apart, destroyed in a single moment!
Inside the foundries, the radiance given off by thousands of divine weapons dimmed one after another; then came the sound of shattering, and the faces of the people who had rushed into the workshops turned hideous in an instant.
"That old bastard of a Headman, as fidgety as a child!"
The Butcher ground his teeth in rage—when all at once his two divine sabers gave out cracking sounds. He said hastily, "Careful. That divine sword is asserting its might, and it is about to carry over to our weapons!"
The Blind Elder hastily stirred up his vital qi and urged on the Dragon-Tuo Divine Spear; the spear gave a mournful cry, and in an instant sword marks appeared all along its dragon head and dragon body.
In the foundries, more and more divine weapons shattered, strange noises unending; the radiance of the divine weapons was extinguished one after another, and everywhere lay blades and treasures suddenly split apart.
The Heavenly Artisans in the workshops stood there dumbstruck and helpless. The shattered weapons were all of the saber, spear, sword, halberd kind; but other divine weapons—shields, hammers, towers, pagodas—showed no abnormality whatever, and were not severed by that divine sword.
After a while, all subsided, and the Supervisory Foundries on both banks of the Tu River were a scene of ruin!
Suddenly, the Headman's voice came from outside, laughing: "Truly a fine sword! Holding this divine sword, I feel I have grown several years younger."
Inside the foundries, everyone's eyes turned vicious.
