Another night passed. The earth quaked and the mountains shook, and a dozen or more black mountains split open. Long Qilin saw a dozen or more youths arrive, each holding a little iron bucket with a willow branch thrust into it.
One of the youths said to him: "These past days you have helped me sprinkle the water, so I will give you a boon. A new Void Mother Beast has been born, and it is still very weak. Now is the best chance to subdue the Void Mother Beast."
Long Qilin was greatly moved, and said: "How does one subdue the Void Mother Beast?"
The youth said, half smiling, half not: "Has your Sect Master not already passed the method on to you?"
Long Qilin carefully recalled what Shen Mu had transmitted, and after a long while he finally remembered that both the Three Enclosures Higher Consciousness and the Great Luo Supreme Divine Consciousness contained ways to subdue void beasts. His heart settled, and he smiled: "May I ask, brother, where that Void Mother Beast is now?"
