Chapter 2714 — Three Heaven-Tier Weapons

The Blossom Guardian

"So that is how it is." Wei Zhao nodded and stepped closer to the display rack. Sure enough, two of the weapons bore a tiny character for "ice," while the third bore a tiny character for "snow."

Such weapons were of little use to Wei Zhao, yet he still wanted to claim them for himself—not for any other reason than this: these two blades that had once belonged to the Ice Palace, if he could give one of them to Feng Xiaoxiao, she would surely be delighted, would she not?

As for the other, he could give it to that little miss Bingtang—provided, of course, that the girl had the good sense to return Feng Xiaoxiao to him.

The weapon from Snow Valley was of no use to Wei Zhao, and he knew no one from Snow Valley either. But one took good things when one could—who knew when they might prove useful? If it were stolen away like that Shennong Cauldron before, Wei Zhao would regret it beyond measure.

"Thunder Pig, I can take all of these things, can I not?" Wei Zhao asked.

"You are the master's fated one, and my new master as well. Of course you can—all these things are yours." Thunder Pig wrote this readily enough, clearly having been instructed beforehand by Zhang Liju.

"Good, then I won't stand on ceremony." With that, Wei Zhao gathered up the three kinds of weapons from the wall and stowed them in his pack. Though he had no idea what these weapons actually were or what power they held, Wei Zhao had decided he did not care—take them first and ask questions later!

Once he had taken them, however, Wei Zhao wondered whether he was not being a bit too greedy. So he turned to Bai Lingtou and Yu Xiaoke. "Do you two want any?"

"I am an alchemist—what would I do with a Heaven-Tier divine weapon?" Bai Lingtou shook his head with a bitter smile. "My weapon is a cauldron too."

"Uh, then shall I give you the real Shennong Cauldron?" Wei Zhao asked.

"..." Bai Lingtou only shook his head, smiling. "That thing cannot be repaired, so it is of no use—fit only to be a collector's piece. Xiaoyi, you had best keep it yourself. Who knows, one day it may prove useful. Giving it to me would be a waste."

"All right. What about you, Xiaoke?" Wei Zhao went on, turning to Yu Xiaoke.

"I do not even know what cultivation method I am meant to practice yet, so having one would be no use to me. When I need one, I will tell you." Yu Xiaoke shook her head. Avaricious as she was, she would not take things like weapons—things of no use to the orphanage.

"Then let us go have a look at the other stone chamber and see what is there." Wei Zhao nodded and said no more. Together with Bai Lingtou, Yu Xiaoke, and Thunder Pig, he went to the last stone chamber they had not yet examined—though Yu Xiaoke had already been there ahead of them.

Upon entering the chamber, Wei Zhao saw an enormous bed... and at once his thoughts took a rather lewd turn. This Zhang Liju truly had been a man of romance—sleeping at night with a beauty on each arm!

It seemed this was where Zhang Liju and his two wives had truly rested. That ancient tomb above really was just a tomb. In his later years, Zhang Liju must have devoted himself entirely to researching the Heaven Dao Golden Pill, with no study of other elixirs at all, which was why the things up there had been of no use.

"There is a big chest here, full of golden hairpins, silver hairpins, and jewelry. I... may I take them?" Yu Xiaoke looked at Wei Zhao hesitantly.

"Uh..." Wei Zhao did not know whether these things ought to be taken. Taking the Heaven-Tier weapons was one thing, but these personal ornaments of Zhang Liju's wives—taking them as well seemed a bit much.

Bai Lingtou, however, had already heard from Wei Zhao about Yu Xiaoke's circumstances and held the girl in great admiration. So he nodded directly. "Xiaoyi and I are both of the Five Luminaries Sect, and the things of Patriarch Zhang Liju and his two matriarchs are the Five Luminaries Sect's things as well. We are all family here—take whatever you like! Since the Patriarch and the Matriarchs have gone and left these things behind, it means they were not important, and of little use to them."

"That is true enough." Wei Zhao glanced at Thunder Pig again and saw that the little creature did not seem to care in the least—so they truly were unimportant! And that made sense: Zhang Liju, the Ice Fairy, and the Snow Fairy had all gone off in pursuit of the Heaven Dao. These things were truly dispensable. So he said, "Then take them!"

"Great!" Yu Xiaoke happily opened her pack and packed away all the gold and silver jewelry. These things would fetch a good price.

When Yu Xiaoke had finished packing, Wei Zhao said, "Teacher Bai, let us be on our way. It is time we left."

"Very well." Bai Lingtou nodded. "I am glad to know that Patriarch Zhang Liju may still be alive! If he could return and look in on the Five Luminaries Sect, I believe Xuan Chen and the others would temper their behavior..."

"Heh, if he were willing to come back, he would likely have done so long ago. He would not have waited until now." Wei Zhao held little hope of that.

"That is true as well. Let us go." With that, Bai Lingtou and the others made their way to the stone chamber where they had first arrived.

Yu Xiaoke pressed a spot on the wall again, and before long the coffin appeared once more in the room. The others, long since accustomed to it, stepped onto the coffin. Yu Xiaoke did not even need to work the mechanism—after a moment the coffin moved of its own accord and carried them back up to the main burial chamber.

It could now be certain that there was no danger here. Whoever had come to the ancient tomb before had likely long since departed. All their worries had been nothing but fools fretting over nothing, frightening themselves for no reason.

As they prepared to leave the tomb, Wei Zhao cast a covetous eye on that round bead that tested one's constitution. It was a good thing after all, and if it were stolen again, Wei Zhao felt he would resent it. So he said, "That round bead that tests constitution—shall we take it with us as well?"

Bai Lingtou had not wanted to take it at first, but then he considered that someone might enter this ancient tomb and make off with it. So after a moment's hesitation he said, "If you have need of it, then let us take it together?"

"Then let us take it together!" Wei Zhao nodded. After all, he wanted to test the attributes of others—Gu Mengyao and Shen Yushu, for instance. He had promised them before that he would help them find a suitable cultivation method; he simply did not know the attributes of their bodies.

But even if he knew, Wei Zhao could not lightly draw conclusions and find cultivation methods and oral formulas for them. RS
