Chapter 964 — Bigger! Even Bigger!

Shen Mu glanced at him. The Prime Wood core shrank rapidly and returned to the Taixu land, shrinking until it came beneath the blood moon, where it suddenly halted.
Luo Wushuang was puzzled as to his intent. Shen Mu leaped up off the Prime Wood core; Luo Wushuang understood at once what he meant to do, and hurried to follow him out.
"BIG!"
Shen Mu roared, and the Prime Wood core surged, pushing that enormous head out beyond the heavens, into the vastness of space.
The blood moon gave a shrill, miserable scream, and was sent flying no one knew where.
The Prime Wood core shrank again, and the two of them, standing upon the pillar's tip, quickly returned to the atmosphere. By the time the pillar had shrunk back into the original site of the Creators' city, the city had become a blank expanse of white, with a great pit in it.
Shen Mu put away the Prime Wood core, then caught a whiff of scorching. He hastily lifted the rod and examined it closely: one end of the Prime Wood core had been burned black, losing who knew how many growth rings.
Moreover, the core was covered with sword marks; in places it had been nearly cut through. It must have been wounded by that sword qi.
Shen Mu's heart ached. "I wonder whether Earth Mother Yuanjun would be willing to give me another rod like this..."
He looked into the distance and saw range upon range of mountains rising and remaking themselves; one lofty, majestic peak after another rose swiftly from the ground and would soon be upon this place.
"Even a Heavenly Sovereign's divine ability cannot destroy this place utterly?" Shen Mu could not help but be appalled.
Luo Wushuang urged him, "Shen the Overlord Body, once this city recovers as well, we will never be able to leave!"
The two hurried out of the city's ruins at once, striding east, their voices carrying from afar: "Just now, up in the sky, I saw another splendid city in the east. Perhaps if we go there, we can find the clues Senior Brother Wei Suifeng left for me..."
Not long after they left, the earth gradually swelled up, and the ruined Creators' city reappeared little by little like a mirage; the monsters too were being remade—everything seemed as though it had never changed.
The difference was that the Fire Heavenly Sovereign's brand and that drop of the Heavenly Sovereign's divine blood were gone, and the other folk in the city had died in the eruption of that Heavenly Sovereign's divine ability.
Shen Mu looked back at the magnificent, extraordinary city, his gaze blank, and said silently in his heart, "What on earth did the Taixu Creators go through? Where did they go? Why is there no sign of them?"
Luo Wushuang was thinking of something else entirely: "Her Highness the Empress and Lady Yuanmu—are they still alive? The Heavenly Court and Taixu are two worlds; if their incarnations die here, their true bodies will never learn what happened. In that case, I need not rebel against the Heavenly Court after all."
Shen Mu glanced at him and said mildly, "Luo the Divine Blade, how do you know the Void Heavenly Sovereign who entered Taixu is not one of them?"
Luo Wushuang was taken aback, then shuddered. He forced a laugh. "Impossible. How could there be such a coincidence?"
Yet even as he spoke, his heart remained uneasy.
Her Highness the Empress and Lady Yuanmu—which two Heavenly Sovereigns had they reincarnated as?
The sun rose, and the Taixu monsters receded like the tide, vanishing into the mountain forests. In the Creators' city, two dark and sunken whirlpools suddenly appeared, spinning, like abysses within.
A flower grew out of one abyss. The bud spun and bloomed with a faint, secluded grace; Yun Chuxiu lay reclining on her side amid the stamens, like a sleeping beauty slowly waking, lazily yawning.
In the other abyss, too, a flower grew. When it opened, Lian Huahun sat upright and proper, gazing coldly toward Yun Chuxiu.
"Wretched woman!"
