Before long they came upon the traces left where the enormous head of the divine artifact Lord Yu had smashed into the ground. Around Bai Yuqiong floated fragments of space that had no thickness, warding off the falling lava and the acid rain.
This place was like hell itself, and yet heart demons were not few here; there were even more of them than elsewhere.
Shen Mu observed for a while: after the head of the divine artifact Lord Yu had smitten the ground here, it must have rebounded again; Lord Hao must have known that his own state was exceedingly dire, and not daring to remain, had roused his last mana to drive the artifact's head away in flight.
He frowned slightly and said in a low voice, "Celestial Master Bai, do you sense it? " Bai Yuqiong was puzzled. "Sense what?
" "The chaotic divine senses of the collapsing void.
" Shen Mu's face was grave.
"When Lord Hao came crashing down," he said in a low voice, "a piece of the collapsing void came down with him.
" A chill seized Bai Yuqiong's heart, and she scanned her surroundings.
Her attainment in divine sense was far beneath Shen Mu's, and so she was nothing like as sensitive; she could hardly sense those masterless divine senses, nor did she perceive the fragments of the void.
Shen Mu raised his head to the sky and could not help but be stunned. He had actually seen the entrance to the Great Void!
The entrance to the Great Void hung in the heavens, so close to the Land of the Great Void!
"The reason the Land of the Great Void has been able to survive is that it lies so far from the entrance to the Great Void.
Even a Lord needs several days to cross that distance, and for the Heavenly Court's great army to reach the Land of the Great Void takes more than a year!

It was a Creator, not a corpse walker; most likely a Creator of the Void of the Other Shore, who had likewise come searching for Lord Hao and had met an unlucky end.
Shen Mu looked up, and his heart gave a lurch: the one who had killed this Creator was an uncanny figure.
It was the Heart Demon Heavenly Emperor. Or rather, to be precise, it was an imagining of the Heavenly Emperor.
This Heart Demon Heavenly Emperor had three heads and six arms and was hideous beyond compare, blue-faced and tusked, its features savage and ferocious, its body covered in eyes.
The Heavenly Emperor was not especially handsome, but he was, after all, an emperor who had ruled the ancient age and had cultivated a bearing and presence beyond the ordinary; this Heart Demon Heavenly Emperor had nothing left but cruelty and malice.
