Chapter 1407 — Hostilities Have Begun

" Meng Yungui said in a low voice, "There has been such an outflow before.

It came of the Heavenly Court minting too many heaven coins; the great heavens earned too many of them from the Heavenly Court, and the value of heaven coins within the great heavens fell.

" The old Daoist Master smiled: "And so we drove up the price of land and houses in the Heavenly Court, kept speculating them ever higher, drawing in the heaven coins of the great heavens and letting the gods and demons of those heavens buy with heaven coins — and thus the great heavens had fewer heaven coins.

Wealth gathered in the Heavenly Court's hands, and with fewer heaven coins in the great heavens, heaven coins grew valuable again.

" Meng Yungui nodded: "With heaven coins gathered in the Heavenly Court's hands, the Heavenly Palace of Commerce destroyed a portion of them. Fewer and fewer circulated; the houses and lands of the Heavenly Court found no buyers at their quoted prices and naturally fell — and so those houses and lands depreciated at a furious rate, and the wealth the great heavens had gathered over centuries and millennia came to nothing.

" The old Daoist Master smiled: "The great heavens grew poor again, and the Heavenly Palace of Commerce minted yet more heaven coins, buying from them divine materials, divine metals and divine ingredients, spirit elixirs and wonder drugs, divine arms and keen weapons, tower ships and great vessels — even buying up their mines, their lands, their people! And so the great heavens must again labor for the Heavenly Court's heaven coins. With this method alone, plundering once every few centuries the wealth the great heavens had gathered, we could keep the great heavens forever laboring for the Heavenly Court.

And the Heavenly Court need give nothing in return, at most minting heaven coins and destroying heaven coins. " Meng Yungui sighed: "Yet now, this method no longer works. " He waved a hand, and upon the dossiers of the great heavens row after row of text lit up brilliantly: "Look, teacher.

These dossiers are the figures for the wealth of the great heavens flowing each year into the Jingping State of the Origin World. And these figures are the heaven coins flowing out of Jingping. " The old Daoist Master of the Heavenly Court gazed fixedly, and after a while smiled: "Jingping of the Origin World is making money off the great heavens. They buy raw materials from the great heavens, then sell the refined everyday Origin weapons back to those heavens, and have earned no small sum.

" Meng Yungui brought out another batch of dossiers: "These are the heaven coins Jingping has earned from the Heavenly Court.

" The old Daoist Master looked closely, pondered, and said, "Jingping earns a good many heaven coins from the Heavenly Court each year as well.

But it is not hard to solve. The Heavenly Master need only repeat the same trick, drawing in Jingping's heaven coins, and plunder Jingping's wealth.

" "That is the hardest point of all. " Meng Yungui sighed: "The bumpkins of Jingping simply do not buy our Heavenly Court's land or houses!

" His agitation flushed his face red: "In these dozen years they have bought houses only once — to purchase property for that bumpkin Mu Tianzun!

This is war, a war aimed at heaven coins, aimed at the Heavenly Court! These bumpkins mean to use heaven coins to bring down heaven coins, to bring down the Heavenly Court!

"
